As a key component of a helical anchor or helical pile system, the helical anchor extension consists of three main parts: the lead component, the helical anchor extension, and the anchor adapter. The structure of the extension unit itself can be further subdivided into the shaft rod (the core part of the extender), the forged socket coupler, and the anchor attachment point, forming a complete functional unit.
The main function of the helical anchor bolt extensions is to install foundation elements in deeper soils, thus ensuring that the bolts are positioned in a more solid and stable geological layer. Deeper foundations significantly increase their load-bearing capacity and stability.
In addition, the forged socket coupler of the helical anchor bolt extension is bolted to the front of the helical anchor bolt, while the connecting part of the extension is fixed by a special tool. During the construction process, the rotating equipment drives the extension bar deep into the soil, and the constructor can gradually increase the extension bar as needed until the specified torque is reached to ensure optimized installation results and safety performance.
