Введение
An upset bolt is a specialized fastener designed for spool insulators, typically mounted on one side of a pole to support neutral conductors or power wires. This type of bolt is also known as an upset spool bolt or simply bolt upset.
FERR Upset Bolts are characterized by their forged, enlarged heads, which provide enhanced resistance against pull-through in wooden structures or cross arms. They are particularly suited for tensile applications where maintaining head integrity is essential.
Upset bolts come in two variants: single upset bolts and double upset bolts. The primary distinction between them lies in the number of forged plates located at the insulator end, with single upset bolts featuring one plate and double upset bolts incorporating two.
At the end of the upset bolt, there is a hole equipped with a steel pin to secure the insulator pin and prevent it from dislodging. These bolts are finished with a hot-dip galvanized coating meeting ASTM A-153 standards for durability and corrosion resistance. Their key function is to support the insulator pin, ensuring a stable passage for conductors and power wires.
