Armored rods, also known as armored bars or rod armor, Armor Rods and Line Guards ， are important accessories used for a variety of conductive materials and are widely used for aluminum conductors with steel cores (ACSR), all-aluminum alloy conductors (AAAC), and aluminum-coated steel conductors, etc. Armored rods manufactured by FERR serve a critical function in transmission and distribution lines, providing structural support and protection.
The main raw materials for armored rods include aluminum wire, galvanized steel wire and aluminum clad steel wire. Users are able to choose the matching armored rod material based on the material characteristics of the conductor to ensure the stability of structural performance.
It is worth noting that the material of the armored rod must be consistent with the conductor’s outer material to avoid galvanic corrosion caused by material differences. In addition, in order to facilitate identification, all types of armored rods are designed with color coding, which not only can easily identify the conductor size, but also can be used as auxiliary marking in the installation process to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the operation.
