Expanding Rock Anchor

FERR’s Expanding Rock Anchor is designed for applications in hard rock or extremely dense soils. The anchor is mechanically expanded to form a firm grip with pre-drilled holes for efficient fixing.

Rock anchors are usually installed in unweathered rock formations to maximize their strength and stability. By design, the anchor bolts are equipped with three eyelets and up to three steel rods can be attached simultaneously. To use them, holes are drilled in the rock formation to a specified size and the angle of the holes is ensured to be consistent with the angle at which the anchor bolts are installed. After inserting the anchor bolts, the steel rods are connected through the eyelets and secured and rotated.

To optimize functionality, the anchor bolt eyelets are designed with special grooves that effectively prevent the strands from kinking, bending or spreading out, while improving construction efficiency.

A significant advantage of these rock anchors is that they can be installed without the use of wrenches, and the simplicity of their design supports faster self-deployment. In addition, the bolts have the ability to drill directly through the rock, which not only reduces construction time, but also significantly reduces labor and equipment costs for the drilling process. The overall installation cost is more favorable than traditional grouting methods.

The rock anchors are certified to ASTM A123 and are hot-dip galvanized for added corrosion protection. The surface of the wedge is coated with a rust-resistant protective layer, allowing it to be used in a variety of complex installation environments and maintaining long-term durability. At the same time, the anchor bolts have excellent tensile strength to resist various external loads and impacts.
