Armored conductors are tension cables consisting of several wires stranded together to form a nearly circular cross-section without welds, splices, or joints. Lightweight and strong, armored conductors are used to stabilize and secure utility poles, towers, and other freestanding structures, and are especially suited for use in the utility, antenna, and communications industries. Truss wire is also called support wire or messenger wire.
The cable is assembled with cable clamps, cable thimbles, cable rods, cable rod holders, anchor rods and turnbuckle cable sets. All of these fixed attachments make up the poles and telephone wires to stabilize the poles and wires.
